First of all, we are really sorry that it’s been so long since our last post.
Somehow we never encountered a proper wlan spot in the last time and were very busy.
Due to our behind schedule, we are no longer in the north of the south island but all of a sudden in south Canterbury (all the missing posts will follow).
Merry Christmas to all of you, we hope you had a great time with lots of food ;)
For christmas we were looking for a remote and lonely place to be, which we found on lake “Pukaki”. There we had the most beautiful and delicious BBQ, right on the water with views on Mt Cook. The following days we spent on the lake, relaxing our mind and body.
For new year’s eve we had the opportunity to volunteer on the music festival “Rhythm and Alps” in Wanaka. Both of us had to work for 18 hours to get the festival tickets for free.
I was very lucky, cause my job was mainly to sit in the shadow of my umbrella, answering questions and be the “go-to-guy”.
Milena got an important job as a very intimidating security guard. She searched cars and bags of the guests for alcohol and drugs (yes, this was one of the few festivals were byo alcohol was prohibited).
It was hilarious to hear the stories of how people tried to hide the alcohol. From injected watermelons to bottles taped under the seats.
The atmosphere became better after the first big depression of the alcohol loss. Even though we lost our car key and my hat once, we had a great time on the festival (and we got both back in the end)!
On 01.01.2016 (sounds like the future) we left the festival and went back to Wanaka, where we ended up sleeping all day. To be continued…
